04 speed

well i finally got my 04 speed. it is beat, and has some stripped screws.
so heres the deal, it leaks
i plugged my 'noid into my friends fly, and aired up my gun. the leak isn't too big, but it isn't small either. it is coming out of the COPS/Sensi hole. anyone (mainly HS or CDA) have any clue what may be causing this? also, my noid is very quiet compared to my friends fly noid, is it just a different noid or something?
cdacda13

Does the leak come from the sensi hole, the left tube, or the right tube?

I doubt it coming directly from the sensi hole.

If its coming from the left tube (when looking at the gun, down the barrel) It could either be the LPR or the exhast valve.

www.fixmyangel.com has all the parts you should need to fix this problem. O-ring kits, screw kits.
abr5

i put my finger over the sensi hole, and felt the leak, so i think that is it
cdacda13

Hmmm, thats a first.

Replace your sensi rod.
abr5

i tried to take of the front plug to get to the lpr, and the screw stripped...
i then decided to try ti dremel a slot and use a flat head screw driver. the stupid thing went around once, but was impossibly hard to turn. i will try an easy out on wednesday prolly, but it is pissing me off.
btw, i tried to get to the lpr so i could see if there was anything screwy in there and so i could throw on a volumizer
HS

I HIGHLY recommend sending tthe gun to FMA and having new screws installed. While it's there, you can have Bob check the seals and make sure everything is square. It sounds to me like you will drive yourself crazy just trying to get al the parts. Send it off and get it done inn one swoop.

By the way, the Volly goes on the valve side, not the LPR side.
abr5

duuuuuh!!!!1
i feel soooo stupid, wow....
my shop owner is amazing at tuning angels, he has a rasta fly that can easily go well over 20. i will probably have him look at it.
can i put a volly on the lpr side jsut for kicks and giggles?
HS

Yes, but it wont do anything.

And it makes your gun look like it has breasts.
You Wont See Me

Always a great distraction while you bunker them.
abr5

hehehe
HS said breasts...

enough of that...
i jsut realized that i could jsut take the screw off the other side and put it on the side where the thing is dead once i get it off. my main fear is that it is crossthreaded. how would i be able to tell if it was?
HS

If the threads on the cap and the threads on the body are both clean ( no flat or crossed-threads Surprised ), you are okay.
abr5

but is there anyway of telling if i don't get the screw out>
HS

We're still talking about the front end caps right, and you want to know if they're cross threaded and not stripped, right?
abr5

well, the head of the cap is stripped, and i wanna know why it is so hard to take out, so i was thinking that maybe it is crossthreaded
HS

Well, even if it is cross threaded it has to come out in order for it to be fixed, sooo...
abr5

yea, but it is just nice to know before i take it out Very Happy

i was just told by a wdp tech that it sounds like i need to replace the cops diverter plate orings, any clue which these are?
HS

abr5

thats what i thought it was. what i think happened was when i put that back in, the little oring came off. i remeber that it didn't fit in quite right, but couldn't remember if i had fixed it or not. i am almost positive that that is the problem

now i have one last question (for now at least)
i can't seem to get the breech pivot rod out. i took both those little grub screws out (the ones at either end of the gun) i know with flys you unscrew the rod, but you can't with my gun. i have tried pushing it out frm both ways, tried many different size allen wrenchs to see if there was a screw inside or soemthing, just can't get it to work. anyone know?
HS

Why are you trying to take your breech off? That just leads to you not being able to get it back on straight.
abr5

2 years of borken paint is in there, plus the pivot rod seems rusty or something cause the breech is extremely hard to open.

so i got the plug out finally and it is cross threaded... pretty gay...
so my body is screwed up, and i might have to either get a new body, or get that retapped a different size, and getting another plug made so that it can fit an oring
HS

Send it to an MT. I recommend Bob at FMA...

He will hook you up with everything. Don't even screw around with the local guy. Get it done right the first time...
abr5

well, i found i can use a helicoil, and i prolyl will cause i am cheap
i will probably get a machinist or someone who knows what they are doing to do it though
HS

Being cheap only creates more problems.
RoboCop

Eh, i wouldn't have bought that angel in the first place.
cdacda13

You need a special screw that screws into the breech rod and then you pull the breech rod out.

Send it to Bob. He knows what hes doing. Trust me and HS. As he say, "Doing things cheaply only creates more problems."
abr5

i have 77 dollars, i can't afford to sent it to bob
HS

Did you email him to see how much it would cost?
abr5

no, but the problem is, i need to have keep some money. i am spending 25 to get my beastly cocker tuned, need to buy eyes, and i need to buy some other small parts. i read on the websites that it is 40-50 dollars (forget which) and they will takee apart your whole gun and replace worn seals and that kinda stuff, but i really can't do that right now. my local shop owner is amazing with guns. his angel is tuned to perfectly it is rediculous. it "pings" when it shoots (dunno if that is good or bad, but the gun is hella fast, little to no kick, and is simple amazing), plus i know this guy so he will do it for free.
anyways, i will prolly have a more experiences machinist do the helicoil (if i can find a kit the right size), then i will have my shop owner put in the board and adjust lpr and stuff.

anyone no where i can get a helicoil in this size - M19x0.75
