This should be in New Players. To clean it and stuff I would get some paintball gun oil and oil all the parts necessary, then polish the internals. Here is a link on how to do it:http://98central.net/mod3.html.

Model98.org I think is the new one.

website has beeeen bookmarked, thanks smitty, i just took all the internals out and tomorrow ima start just gettin all the sticky crap off and replacin o-rings etc, i also put a o-ring on the feedneck to reduce the shake, worked well, but i got A LOT of work ahead of me lol

Take some 220Grit Sandpaper and run that over all of the internals. Then on the back bolt (Hammer) use steel wool after the sandpaper. Take steel wool and polish the internals. This will help get that crap out, but go over it with 220 grip first. Then for the outside, just get a good paint remover, let it sit, mill if you want to, take off the rest of the paint, and paint that bad boy. Thumbs up

Smitty...baby steps dude...baby steps.....he dose not need to paint it right now...let him do some minor stuff first(polish internals, Trigger mods and other stuff) like:
http://model98.org/mods/eliminateslop.php

http://model98.org/mods/singlestop.php

http://model98.org/mods/doublestop.php

http://model98.org/mods/tunemech.php

http://model98.org/mods/tunert.php

http://model98.org/mods/portfeed.php

http://model98.org/mods/polishingint.php

http://model98.org/mods/silentsear.php

http://model98.org/manuals/oringblowback.php

http://model98.org/manuals/powertube.php

....that should do it...just get a feel for the gun...take it slow. milling and other stuff can come later.
Smitty

That's pretty much what I said. Polishing the internals is pretty much something most do when redoing a gun. You didn't even say how to clean it up. After you've got all the paint and whatever else is on it off, like tig said, run over it with some rubbing alchaol. That will help get some of the small crap off the recievers. Then you can paint. If you aren't doing anything such as mods to it, that should work great.
