Air gauge leaking???

I got my A-5 shooting well, as seen here:
http://media.putfile.com/Tippmann-A-5

I'm new to running HPA and have some problems. Air is slowly leaking out of the gauge on my Palmers. It blows right out of the hole in the center of the face plate. Also, my Palmers pressure adjustment will not allow the pressure to get over 650-700psi, I turn the screw with no result. On my marker setup I have the RVA screwed all the way in, and the stock velocity adjuster backed all the way out. Still I'm getting meager 260-270's over my chrono, decent consistency. It seems that increaseing the pressure adjustment on the palmers does not raise its gauge reading or the ball velocity once it is set to 650-700psi. turn the screw for more pressure, no change. If I put it at 750-800psi I would be on at 280-290fps... Palmers won't give it to me but my airtank gauge has >2500psi feeding it.

Also coincidentally, the hole in the side of the gauge on my 32degrees scuba fill station starts rapidly blowing out air! I think I'm going to try to exchange it since I just got it... I'm having bad luck with gauges...
Anybody have ideas? Similar gauge problems?

Edit: I forgot to mention - I am also getting ocassional double feeds. Maybe I should do the double ball detent mod? Sometimes the front bolt jams on a ball. I have to unscrew the barrel and push the ball back ect.

maybe re-teflon tape the gauge.

all gauges use a metal diaphram in them wich under pressure moves the needle, when this diaphram ruptures it leaks through the face of the gauge. (on hight dollar hydraulic gauges they have a blow off port to let you know when they rupture and all parts are replaceable....on the $12 PB gauges you just have to buy a new one)sounds like you have a bad gauge to me??

for what it's worth my palmers won't pass the 650 range either?? don't know why it should adjust all the way up i would think but it dosen't.

Mine has no need to go any higher than that.

What's wrong with 260-270?

I would like 280, seems to be a flatter shot.

Luckily it's not leaking from there.

I will try new gauges, any ideas who makes a rugged one?

i have a bob long mini gauge and like it....don't know how durable it is, haven't actually played with it yet.

That's what I have, the intimidator one with the eyes, it started leaking now but didn't for a few months.

LOL so i can look forward to mine leaking shortly!

Does the bleed screw on the 32deg fill station have the plastic disk in the threaded hole? There should be a small plastic or rubber disk behind the bleed thumb screw.

Sorry I cant explain this well.

Your on to something... it does have a nylon insert the screw tightens up against, I torqued the bleed screw in real tight and the gauge didn't leak Thinking Maybe it was related, maybe coincidence. I know I felt air coming out of the pinhole in the gauge before, but it seems to be working OK now.

However my luck hasn't been good. I need a new gauge for my Palmers since that one is leaking now, and also last night my burst disk went on my HPA tank! It only had around 2000psi in it!! Also I oiled my Palmers and it is working much better now, it was fine for awhile but recently had a ton of shootdown before I oiled it.
Q-loader is doing OK, but I am still breaking balls or not feeding all of them, balencing the prewinds is an art. My front bolt will catch a ball from time to time and jam if the pod doesn't push hard enough.

Made me seriously consider buying an ion since they are only $200 now. As much as I debated getting a Matrix with myself... it is a lot of cash to drop at once and not a need.

ah man, i just found out that my shop owner was adjusting my old adjustable tank and the cover of the gauge blew off and hit him aboce the eye. sunday was a bad day for gauges

I can't play now, because I need cheap little parts, just to drive me crazy... I'll see what the shop scalps me for, not worth mail ordering.
