Buying another car

So, I'm about to buy a 1992 RS camaro. 5.0 TBI engine. Body in exellent condition. Interior is all together but is in need of some serious cleaning.
Best part. Its only 300$.
Worst part, Engine doesn't start Interior smells bad, missing some crossmember bolts, and the trans fluid is over filled.

This forum loves thier camaros. I guess i'll keep the tradition going when I can drive

Pretty much.
YWSM owns two 3rd gen camaros.

I own one 3rd gen firebird and I'm getting this 3rd gen camaro.

And I plan on buying a 1998-2002 Z28/trans am by the time I'm 18. (LS1 baby)
They sure are fun to drive.
RoboCop

I test drove a Saturn Ion the other day. I might get it for my first car. It wasn't too bad. I plan on getting a standard because I like shifting. The short shift is kinda odd for me because I am used to driving a standard Jeep Libery sport. I just need to get used to the first gear on the Ion.

I was really wanting a Scion tc. It is a little out of my price range though. I was really hoping of not getting a car with the same name as my paintball gun also. Confused

sounds pretty sweet cda.

i wish i could get a new car for my first car.

im having to buy my dads 98 f-150

but i want it really bad.

I just have to wait till he can afford something else, because both of my parents need a car.

because the engine (measly 305 anayway Rolling Eyes ) and trans is questionable ditch them both and buy a new long block 350 and b&m trans. for probably arround 4K you could have a prety sweet ride with a new power train this is assuming you do the work yourself Rambo

better yet find a good used LS1 and a new b&m trans and build a sleeper Shocked
You Wont See Me

I do love my Camaros.

Glad to have ya in the family.

If you figure out what the probem is let me know, chances are i've had it with one of mine.

Hey now tig...Be easy on the engine. My truck's got a 305. THumb down This summer it will be getting a freshly rebuilt 402. Gosh...I still need to get pics up. Still haven't gone muddin yet though. It's kinda hard with like 1.5' of snow.
cdacda13

I dont really plan on keeping it that long.
The only time I'm going to drive it is when I fix the fuel sensor on the firebird. (I have to drop the exhust system AND the rear axle. Fun Fun Fun.)
Then I'm going to sell both of them. (Hopefully get 1.5k on the firebird, and 2.5k on the camaro.) And then buy my LS1 camaro. (Will be a Manual of course.) Put some new heads and a camshaft and some new rocker arms on it and call it a day.

Thats the plan anyways Confused

i have had some prety good times 4-wheelin in the snow Smitty.

cda, dropping a rear axle really isn't that much work, i swapped one out in about 3 hours start to finish......and drank a six pack while doing it LOL.
cdacda13

Tig-
Doing it really shouldn't be a problem. Its waiting for the weather to get good, and the space I dont have to do it in. Other then that, I'm confident that I can do it myself.

The only good times I've had is in some of the drifts around town. Nothing much, but still fun. Oh yeah and all of those fun times swirving around town in 2wd. Razz

Who knew buying a car off a friend could become a moral issue?

Heres alittle backstory about the car:
My best friend bought it off a friend of his. He bought it on a Thrusday. We worked on it on a Friday. He move in with his aunt and uncle on a Saturday. He got into a fight with his mom, and he left.
Now, one week later, I'm talking to him. He knows that I want the car, I've told him I'd buy it for what he paid for it.
This is the moral part.
He tells me to take it for free.

Now, do I do the un-moral thing a take the car, even though I'm not going to be driving it or keeping it that long.
Or do I offer to pay him what he paid for it.
He's been my best friend since I was 6. Do I rip off my best friend?

hell no you don't, give him at least what he paid for it! this car sounds like an investment and if you make some cash on the deal after getting the car for free you will feel like an a-hole.
g36 monkey

i agree with tig in full.

if he wont take the money, leave it with him somehow, so he wont notice.
You Wont See Me

No, you dont take the car for free. Pay him what he paid for it.

If he absoutely wont take the money, another option would be to tell him you'll take he car but its still his. You coud alwayspay him for it later.

Finally got it to my house today.
Getting it on the trailor was a pain in the ass though.

I already started gutting the interior.
Heres the pics:

Heres alittle work I've done on my firebird I re-did my door panals:
