Cat problems

Well, my brother's cat is giving us problems. She has been going to the bathroom in areas where she is not supposed to. She is an inside cat with no claws so she can't go outside. So, my mom has been getting annoyed by the cat. She already hates having inside animals because fur will be everywhere. The bathroom problems have pushed my moms buttons and so my mom is having us get rid of the cat unless she stops going to the bathroom in the wrong spots.

Does anyone know how to stop her from doing that? This is a good and fun cat because it doesn't just sit there wasting space and I would hate to see her go. We have asked the people at Petsmart and all they could do was give us phone numbers to shelters and there all they will most likely do is put her to sleep. Please help.

how old is she?
Smitty

I'd personally shoot it. .22 + Cats = Great target practice

Other than that I don't know. I'll wait for someone to start the flaming on me.
Roll Tide

C'mon Smitty, be a little more civilized.

Try multiple litter boxes just to get her going in the right places, then remove them progressively until you only have one left. A little more extreme measure would be trying to close off areas of the house that you don't want your cat relieving herself in. When our cat got to be about 5 (she had been using a litter box in the same room since a kitten) she decided she didn't want to go there anymore so we had to move the litter box.

I hope it works out man. Cats are good, laid-back companions that are tough to lose.

She is still young but fully grown. I will have to try the moveing of the litter box.

It happens to most cats, they get tired of the same place, happened to mine....try it.

Cats suck.

Ah, itll be fine outside, we keep are cats outside and both are declawed. just leave food outside or let them in when they wanna come in. you can try multiple boxes too.

I dont like cats, but its wrong to be inhumane to any animal.

Why would you declaw a cat and then put it outside?
abr5

having a declawed cat outside is really bad. if it got attacked it would be killed extremely easily.
just try to get a couple liter boxes, and if u see a pattern in where the waste is, put a littler box in those places
RoboCop

She likes to go on my flip flops. It is really strange. Well, we haven't moved the litter box yet. I turned it around so it faces a diferent way. Also we have had a mat in front of the litter box that she hates so I turnes it away from that. Hopefully it will solve the problem.

My family has one cat, a dog, a turtle, and a snake. We used to have two dogs, but one died at night. My last cat was put to sleep because she had diabetes(sp?).
redneckdeerhunter

We use to have 3 cats. But they all got "run over" cough cough.
RoboCop

Here is the snake.

It just got done eating.

And here is the problem maker.
TriggerHappy1

we got it like that from the animal shelter. nothing that could really hurt it around here, even still the cat would be smart enough to run away? haha
abr5

my cat would be dumb enough to attack a rabid racoon. Shes attacked dogs before, and scared them away, but w/o claws she would be screwed
Roll Tide

Same, abr5. We have bobcats in our woods, and with no claws it would just be like free lunch for the bobcat.

honestly, even if a cat did have claws would it stand a chance against a bobcat?
