get a candle in teh front, with a long wick, like on of the jack-o-latern candles, wrap it in tin foil, and mount it on a wire. duck tape it to the gun. that'll work (maybe)
Nickodemus

Works until the flame flows back and melts the nozzle, then opens up the reservoir. There is no flame arrestor on the muzzle of that thing.
DONT DO IT!

aww man, you dont gotta worry about my safety nickodemus, im just a stupid little kid Laughing thats why you use something that wont explode, like lighter fluid (not butane or gas) or like they used. Thats why they only used it in short bursts too.

Nice..
Nickodemus

All you need for it to combust is a mixture of fuel and air then ignition. It doesn't matter what the fuel is, it flames when it gets vaporised and has the oxygen available to burn rapidly. Short burst will work, but if the pressure drops enough to have flame get before the candle your in big trouble. This will happen in an instant and it will be to late for you to react until you have a serious problem.
Many people have had trouble with hairspray cans flaring up and exploding, while doing the same thing.
There are better and safer ways to build a flame thrower... This one isn't good. Be careful! I would use propane and a proper valve. This way it wouldn't leave a liquid on the ground to burn since the pressure comes from it expanding into a gas out the tank, propane is heavier then air so a small amount will sink instead of surround you in a confined area, and you won't have the flame back issue to deal with if you have a good valve and flame arrestor. $25 dollars at home depot may save your life if you are that determined to build something like this.

i completely understand what you mean. I cant build it anyways, i dont think i have the right things. Thankyou for your concern, and i know much about the whole aerosol hairspray flame thrower thing (hope i spelled aerosol right), or any thing like that for that matter. I knew some1 who lost 2 fingers doing that. Again i thank you for your concern.
