My A-5 as of 8/05

I will try to get a video soon. I think it needs a good paint job but other then that I'm done with it.

Overall, good marker.

I don't really like the camo duct tape around the SS back of the Boomstick, I think black duct tape will look much better, and flow with the gun.

What are your plans for a paintjob? Powdercoat? Do-it-yourself?

8/10.

The tape is a quick fix until I think of something better. I was going to get a friend to airbrush it for me... if that will work, I have to look into it. I'm open for suggestions.

I went with function over form. What makes a durable finish on plastic and coated metal?

Pretty nice! 7-10.

If you want to stregthen your R-5 hopper try what I did and use black electrical tape and super glue at all the joints. First lay down a very thin bead of super glue then tape over. You will find the R-5 is not that durable and will crack very easily.

Nice gun. The tape doesnt look that bad.

Good idea, it is so small I bet I could get by with a fiberglass repair kit. Paint on the resin and lay down the strips... that stuff is tough I have used it on a canoe. The R-5 seems strong but I haven't played with it yet so thanks for the tip. I bet the UV sunlight makes the plastic more brittle over time.
RoboCop

All hoppers should be made with a shell made out of polycarbonate like a Halo because they are super durable.
Justice

Believe me man, the R-5 is made out of some of the cheapest plastic out there. I worked many years for a couple of plastic injection mold companies and ricohet could of used a more durable plastic.

Yeah your idea would work good too. I've use that resin on my surfboard and it will out last the board probably.

Camo tape is off, I blacked out the SS barrel section and gas line. It does look better, I think I will keep it this way for awhile. I want to paint it. Some of the black started coming off the front face below where the barrels screws in. (takes a lot of hits around there)
