My A-5 RT night vid 11/05 *Added day video

I got my LP lines and fittings in from Tippmann when I got home from work today. They went on in <10 min.
It got dark early so sorry about the light in the video. Check out my untuned super RT. The lid keeps poping open to my hopper!

nice, i love that paint job you did, it looks hot at night
Nickodemus

Thanks
tigman250

did you do the internal mods we talked about to make it easier to maintain firing? it's fast but it can be FASTER!muhahaha
Nickodemus

No, I'm working on that now.
tigman250

you will like it MUCH better........trust me!!
TriggerHappy1

Sounds like it sounds awsome.
GoTsKiLLz

damn...thats hot as hell...nice paint job its hella sexy.
Nickodemus

After Tig's mods -

The second half it slows down a bit, I'm not sure why.
The trigger return spring is out. I replaced the sear spring with the stock one that Tippmann sent me. They looked the same and about the same tension. The original is brass colored and the stock one is black.

after i got my R\T i was a little dissapointed on how hard it was to maintain firing, with the mods i made it is much easier and with practice it's very easy to ramp up and down with ease!
TriggerHappy1

Mr RT seems extremly easy to maintain a burst. I can really hold it top speed, or any speed, for as long as a want unless Im low on air.
sinisterNorth

Very nice. The mods seemed to help. Your paintjob does look really awesome when its darker.
Nickodemus

Day time video:

I will probably use this speed when I play.
Grunt_98c

can you e-mail me the vids..i can't see them on putfile....

I'm pretty sure you're the last person on Earth to use Dial Up.

Crying or Very sad
Nickodemus

I put them on file front, you should be able to download them here:

I hope those links work.
sinisterNorth

I too use dial-up.....

I'll check out the day vid tomorrow at school.
Grunt_98c

very nice vid dude Thumbs up..all you need now is HP and that QEV mod for you a-5....
tigman250

very nice, can it go faster or is that max? oh and that damn fence had it coming!
Nickodemus

Yeah my girlfriend hosed off the fence. I have more room to open up the RT flow valve, but I couldn't get it to bounce with it that far open so I turned it down.
TriggerHappy1

I watched it in school today, no sound though. LOOKED pretty damn fast.
Nickodemus

Not as fast as some 98's I've seen, but faster then any A-5 I've seen. That of course doesn't mean I have a super fast A-5, I just haven't seen anyone speed one up past the cyclone feed rate. I think the QEV mod is BS.
tigman250

you'll have to have grunt goldwave it to see where that bad boy is at.
Nickodemus

That or get it over a good chrono soon.
tigman250

it will be interesting to see if we have the FASTEST A-5 here at the looza

do you think that changing the springs made it easier to maintain fire? if so did you try changing one at a time to see what one made the biggest diffrence?
Nickodemus

I am going to put the old spring back in next time I shoot it. They were very similiar but I think my original may better broken in and a little softer from the wear.
redneckdeerhunter

cant that mod do some damage on your internals
Nickodemus

It's a robust little system.

you have surpassed the cyclone feed rate without the qev mod? is the clyclone not cycling fast enough or skipping balls?
TriggerHappy1

I havnt read up on it, but I think that QEV mod wouldnt do a damn thing. Since it vents the air in your cyclone, it would mean less of a delay, making it altimatly spin faster. And the problem with the cyclone is it spinning too fast become a blender, so how would that help?
Nickodemus

It's not a blender, more of a popcorn maker. Well before the paint could break something else happens. It's like throwing a ballon into a ceiling fan. Maybe if it catches it just right it will break, but 100% time mine doesn't do that. It skips loading the ball, and instead flings it towards the back of the hopper (this poped my lid open in the night videos, now I use a rubber band to secure the lid down and have the ROF lower so it will feed.
The QEV claims to make it spin faster. That is not the solution to the problem and only makes it worse. The ball cannot fall fast enough over the short distance to become seated for chambering.
tigman250

does it work better with a full hopper?
Nickodemus

It did seem to a little with the full hopper but I turned down the rate so it doesn't fling it open anymore.

faster
tigman250

what did you change to get it faster? looks like you're getting better at maintaining fire too! good job Nick!
TriggerHappy1

Maintaining it and even adjusting to shoot faster just comes with practice. Every shot you have to adjust your finger just right. Thats what makes some people's RTs suck, and some awsome.

Ill get around to seeing the video soon.

Thanks. Replacing the sear spring with the trigger return spring helped a lot. I opened the flow control valve more and found a higher end sweet spot. I find it easier to maintain with my finger at the very bottom of the trigger. I just have to remember not to pull to hard when I want more balls.
