My truck.........finally I know

Well I finally found the pics I have, but it was after I went muddin' so she's kinda dirty. Anyway here's the pics:

1984 Chevy K10 Scottsdale
Body work done and repainted black (was black and gold)
15" Centerline wheels
33" x 12.50" Pro Comp Mud Terrain Tires
5.0L 305

I've still got to repaint the inside since it's still gold. I also put in new cd player since the old one was just a straight AM radio. I just put the first coat of a roll on bedliner on yesterday too. It'll be getting either a rebuilt 402 big block that we have sitting around, or I'll get a built 350 or something and drop it in. I'm not sure yet. I also don't know what I'm going to do for exhaust. I can't get straight pipes. I want something with a really loud deep tone though. Any help on that or any suggestions in general would be appreaciated.

Looks like it could use a nice wax. I'm sure you could run into things with that and have minimal consequences.

I'm actually thinking about getting a brush guard. I'll probably end up just getting a push bar though. I want an off road bar behind the cab too with some off road lights, but this will all have to be down the road a while.

my buddy got some flow masters on his ranger, they sound really good, especially when idling.

she looks perdy Santa

i need to get some pictures of what love bugs are, show all of you non-floridians how nice it is n ot to have them ruining your car Laughing
tigman250

hell, that ain't dirty, just drove down a dirt road Tounge

go with Flow Master, i found a set on eBay for my truck for $30 shipped. fairly quiet at an idle but they really talk when you are standing on it. don't worry so much about a brush guard, stick the money into a lift kit, get some clearance for those 33's.

I've got a friend with a 1976 (1970 something at least) K20 w/ a 3" body and 4" suspension lift. Well he broke it after a week and now he's going to probably sell it, so he said he'd give me the lift off of that (the body). He might also give me the axles off of it. I'll have to see if I can get the lift to work on my truck. The only pain is putting it in. And, I need a whole new exhaust system. Should I find a flowmaster dual exhaust and then get some like Super 44's or something? What flowmaster exhaust should I get? Is there more than one?
g36 monkey

im not sure how many different kinds of flow masters there are.

if you can think up a design to get them to come out anywhere on the truck that would work, the place will fit it for you.

my buddy got his to come out the sides on his ranger, initially the place told him it wouldnt work, low and behold he had a plan that did.

sorry if this is no help, seemed like you were having slight limitations.

I thought about straight out the back, but that's kind of old. Everyone does that. I thought about behind the tires and out the sides, but I want to find an extremely loud exhaust, but daddy says it's got to have mufflers. THumb down If someone could find an exhaust that's about as loud as straight pipes that would be great. URL's to the systems would be great.
g36 monkey

well...i asked my friend

(the same one who drew up the design for the ranger)

he is pretty much a car expert.

he said to get cut-outs

i looked it up

and found This

he says those are good
if you dont like that, i found those on here

hope that helps
Smitty

I don't want cutouts. I thought about that when I first started looking, but I don't think daddy would like that too much. He said they're for racing and not for everyday trucks. THumb down
g36 monkey

o...sorry

once again ive been of no use.

Im not sure what to get then. aaargh

Get an exhaust tip that is shaped like the chevy logo. When you hit around 40, that thing starts to whistle.

I thought about that. I don't know if they're cool looking or tacky. I'll have to think about it.
tigman250

the super 40 Flow Master is the loudest one and if you are running duals have them come out behind the rear tires, if you take them straight out the back you can't hear the exaust from the cab. bringing them out the side really enhances the sound IMO. just buy a muffler with a single inlet and dual outlet then have a shop bend the tail pipes for you.

if you go to flowmasters web site i think they have sound clips of all of their systems.

^

yeah they do
Smitty

They've got a new Super 44 that's supposed to be louder. I'm going to run headers to a true dual exhaust. I'll try to find Flowmaster Headers, dual exhaust that runs out the back, and cheap 44s. It's just hard to find exhaust and headers that fit my truck w/ a big block.
Smitty

Well I'm not sure about that new motor or not. I might be getting a car. (But I'm keeping the truck) I'm looking at a 2001 camaro. I'll need a car for college so I figure this way I'll have one paid off. It gets decent gas mileage, and it's a sweet ride, so I guess I'll see how this all turns out.
RoboCop

Every camaro that I have heard of has spent way too much time in the shop getting fixed instead of out on the road. My uncle is a mechanic and he agrees.
You Wont See Me

Yeah, camaros are money death traps, this is from someone that has 2 and one is constantly in the shop.

I'm not sure abou the newer ones, but the old ones are money pits

Yeah idk now. I want to keep the truck, but paying insurance on the camaro will be an extra $290 a month on top of the $390 for the truck. Then I'll be paying car payments too. That would be about $300 a month to get it paid off in 2 years. I might have to strech the loan out longer, but we'll see.
You Wont See Me

I checked out a loan last weekend for a 3rd (yeah...yeah..) camaro and a $3000 loan for 2 years is only like $140 a month.

This one was worth it though. 88 with a 350, buying from the original owner who babied the hell out of it. Stored winters and everything.
Smitty

Yeah but this would be a $7,900 loan. After the down payment probably $6,500. I've pretty much decided to not get this car, and save up for a year or so, and then see where I'm at financially. Just to show you guys here's the link:

You Wont See Me

I wouldnt drop that much oney into a loan at our age anyway.

I wouldnt want to be tied down to that much of a monthly payment
cdacda13

Nice truck smitty.
