They are pretty amzing in the right conditions. Too much wind and it'll take the bullets. That's what the guy who's selling it said.

yeah the .22 mag is like 50 or 55 grains and the .17 is almost half of that, another downfall is it lacks knock down power. then again you're not using it on elephants :elephant:

Exactly. More than likely a just shoot-a-round gun. You could also use it for small game like rabbits, squirrels, or other animals.
TriggerHappy1

17HMR is very impressive, but like the .223, at very far range (like over 1000yds) they tend to "tumble" through the air or so I hear. 22 Mag shoots great. I have no problem getting at 6" grouping at 100yds. Very effective on groundhogs up at my mountain place either.

The 22 Mag, and 410/22 (shotgun which you can switch into a 22), are both mine. The rest I share with my bro or father. I dont think they are registed to me or my bro though.

Kinda pricey for a shoot arround gun if they're like the .22 mag they go for about 8.00 for 50 rounds ouch if you wanna plink stick with the good old .22 LR. in MI we use them on fox and coyote you can't use centerfire rifles after dark so all predator hunters have their large centerfire rifles for day and .22 mag or .17 for night

No. Here you have to be 16 or 18 to "own" a gun. I bet it's the same there. I'm sure they're yours, but registered in someone elses' name.
TriggerHappy1

I try not to use anything but 22lr for plinking (mostly what I do anyway). 22lr is cheaper than paint usualy! I think its usualy $10.00 for a brick of 500. Mag is like $6-8 for 50. I usualy have to pay for my ammo too.

Theres dozens of them in the backyard (10acre feild) up there (where I was shooting my MiniMag in the video). Dropped a few smoke bombs in a few holes once, smoke came up all over the feild. Its infested with hogs. Killed two so far this year, a heart and neck shot. They didnt get very far at all... It sucks because the owner of the feild is building a house up there now.

i used to have a 400 yd. range at my dads house until the neighbor built a house across the mile.....stupid neighbor Evil or Very Mad

Dont worry Smitty, I live really close to Philly. Couldnt get worse. Luckily I have a house near NY!

Tried to shoot a hog with the Mauser. 8mm is a huge bullet, I think its taller than a 30-06 with a significantly larger bullet. Pretty big kick too. Very hard to hit something at 100yds with open sights.

Wow thats quite amazing. Just luck though.

Theres these birds called barnswallows that manuever amazingly and can literly dodge bullets. In over 2000 22lr rounds, and a box of 410s, weve killed one with the 22. I hit and killed one with my cocker on memorial day weekend. I sneaked up to a tree and it just took off, I snapshot it and nailed it. It was so lucky.

Bird hunting with paintball guns (especialy high ROF guns) is so much fun.

Very fun because you dont have to worry about shooting in the air so much, or whats around, and you can just unload, and its cheap. I go bird/squirrel/anything really hunting with my cousins with my markers. Small animals like that usualy dont suffer if you get a good shot on them. I dont shoot larger non-killable animals though.

Well, I probably wouldn't be here now, I'd probably be doing 25-30 minimum in prison. I'm not purple... I'm mixed, it was like 4 AM and it wasn't light outside yet, so the only light I had was artificial which makes my skin look funny on camera.

22 Magnum. Beautiful gun!

410ga/22lr with the 22 barrel on.

Even if it did shoot, I wouldn't! If its not a replica and has matching serial numbers it's a true collectors item.

AK's are 7.62x39, this is 7.62x33, the HK-91 and G-3 are full size rifle cartridge - .308 Win.
After WWII the German designers went to Spain to create the CETME. This later evolved into the G-3 (or civilian HK-91). This final evolution is the perfect "end of the world" assault rifle, since it will never break a part.

This is my bros friend's Stern Gewehr. It was the FIRST assult rifle. This gun inspired the AK-47. Its 7.62x24 I believe, which is like a shorter AK's 7.62x37. There were only 50,000 made. They are very rare and worth thousands.

Cool cool, is it still in working condition? Thinking

After WWII the German designers went to Spain to create the CETME. This later evolved into the G-3 (or civilian HK-91). This final evolution is the perfect "end of the world" assault rifle, since it will never break a part.
This is another history lesson from Nickodemus. Wink

Did you all see my arsenal over at the Tippmann forum or should I post it here also? I don't like showing everything off on the net, one day some could be illegal. Some BATF ninjas comes knocking on my door to collect everything, there in for a surprise - its all legal. We would have to be in a true police state for that to happen and I think that is very unlikly.

I remember looking at it over at Tippmann. I'd like to see the pics again, you had a nice collection.
Nickodemus

I will try to remember to bring the camera over to my brothers to photo the CETME and shotguns. Then I will post them all on here.

Germans use good steel and well thought out design. For cold war stuff I have actually been very impressed by weapons out of Checkoslovakia.

I really like the SKS. By the looks of them, I'd say they're still in working order. Have you shot any of these?
GoTsKiLLz

damn....what u doing gettin ready for war? lol i like it though...3 thumbs up. thumleftthumleftthumleft
Nickodemus

I go to the range regularly and train on every one besides the 6.5 Carcano. I put a lot of work into the SKS - it started off as a M59/66 Yugoslavian, then I put it in a quality dragonov target stock. Got the grenade sight and bayonet lug sawed off and the grenade launcher milled out to a compensator. Then hand made fiber optic sights and a see through top cover scope mount with optics, and there you go!

Snap! I'd love to have me one of those. Looks like it'd shoot great.
Nickodemus

Yeah it does, I keep the stock 10 round mag on it for reliability but they do make VERY hi-cap ones. The SKS is much more accurate then the AK-47, for the same 7.62 x 39mm round. The Russian SKS and Yugos are the best quality - gotta love forged recievers. Unfortunetely the bullet losses a lot of it's knockdown power past 250 yards. Then it's Garand time!

250 yards isnt bad at all. I've only shot a Garand once, but I loved it.
Nickodemus

^^^ 250 yards going into a soft target. Closer if you have to go through 1/4" steel first, or what not.
Garands are awesome. However I think my next rifle will be an M-14, or a Savage heavy barreled target bolt in Win .308

Next Carbine will be an M-4 or sweet small & compensated AK in .223
Next pistol? Maybe that new FN or a little S&W .357 Mag revolver.

my buddy shot a tweety bird at 100+ yds with his .22 LR-iron sights off of a power line had i not seen it myself i would still call him a liar to this day

Whoa...that's really good.

I can bite my tounge no longer! 100 yards iron sights is nothing for a zeroed rifle. You shoot M-1s in matches with iron sights at 1000 yards (of course the target is like a sheet of plywood). Only when your view of the front sight is larger then your target does it get difficult. How big was the tweety bird? 3-5 MOA isn't hard for a good .22L rifle. Should I make another "on the topic of aiming" thread?
