X-core easy to install?

Title says it all. I plan on getting one with my County order next week sometime.

Also, I might be getting a RVA soon. Is it worth it? Will it work correctly with the rocket cock II?
Grunt_98c

it should...why would you want a rva??? that lazy...lol.

Thanks for not answering the main question..I never said I wasnt lazy, I was just asking. Wasnt sure if it was worth the $20 or whatever.
Grunt_98c

sorry, if you don't have the money for the palmers male stabilizer...yes..a good upgrade...the rva maybe not...but yes the rocket cock will work with the rva...and sorry again.....

If you want to make your velocity very precise and fine-tune it, an RVA is good. I like them and think they are worth it.
Grunt_98c

also yes..all you need is a vertical adaptor and a 90 degree fitting and the right sized steel hose or macro line..and the x-core is on your gun....

And X-core is easy yo install.

You need the Vertical adaptor, Teflon Tape. Thats it.

Take out stock SS line.
Wrap the teflon tape around the VA twice.
Screw the VA into the valve. Be careful, dont cross thread the valve. That=new valve.

Put the valve back into place. Put Gun back together.
Screw the x-core into the VA.
Attatch fittings/lines. Remember, use teflon tape.

You're done.
rossy11223

And don't use the red teflon tape! Use the blue. One of my friends found that out the hard way.
cdacda13

red stuff is used for copper tubbing I believe.
rossy11223

You can't get the stuff off. I think it needs a lot of heat to get it off but it is still hard.
TriggerHappy1

X-Cores very easy to install. Just be carefull not to overtighten/crossthread the valve screws or SS line threads. Follow the directions and youll be fine. I beleive red teflon tape is for high temperature aplications. Wont hurt anything or work wrong.
rossy11223

Yeah, it won't hurt anything if you never want to take the vertical adapter off. The red tape has the high strength, the blue is medium, and the purple is weak.
TriggerHappy1

Rossy, your thinking of Loctite, the liquid stuff. Teflon tape is like tape.
Grunt_98c

you can just use the cheap white colored one to....
cdacda13

There is red teflon tape, but its really damn thick.

Well for the RVA, I suggest against it. I hated my RVA. It just made me mad. I took it off my gun. $20 wasted I would say.
sinisterNorth

Ok thanks guys. Any suggestions on what to use the $20 for instead of the RVA in my County order?

Does the VA come with the X-core?
cdacda13

no, the VA doesn't
rossy11223

So I guess you will be putting that $20 to a VA, correct?
sinisterNorth

Probably...I might not get the X-core yet. Trying to get some basic ups first.
Nickodemus

Supposedly the RVA gives you more consistency with velocity over only having the normal control. I don't know because I put mine on the same time as I did my Palmers.
tigman250

the RVA was my first upgrade i didn't like the idea of using the same volume of air and choking it off like the stock setup does, with the RVA you use a lesser volume of air and dosen't restrict it. because it uses a smaller volume of air you will get more shots per tank also (don't know how many) in my opinion it's money well spent! but it's your gun set it up the best way you see fit
You Wont See Me

The X-core is very easy to install on an A-5.

Its a little harder on a 98c because you'll need a vert adapter but I dont know what you have.
sinisterNorth

It's stock right now. I'll probably end up ordering the X-core with several other things from County next week.

Will I need to get a new hose? I was planning on getting a 6" just in case.
rossy11223

A new hose is not required but it will make your gun look better.
You Wont See Me

Yes a shorter hose will look better. I have a 4" hose on my A-5 with no verticle adapter, so 6" should work for you.
